Assessment
Psychological Assessment & Diagnosis
Psychologists are uniquely trained to evaluate psychological functioning and provide diagnostic clarity to guide intervention.

Brief Diagnostic Assessment

Brief diagnostic assessments (60 minutes) include self-report measures and semi-structured clinical interviewing for preliminary diagnostic information. This information is used to provide recommendations and aid in treatment planning. Patients have the opportunity to discuss treatment options and ask questions.

Comprehensive Psychological Assessment

Comprehensive psychological assessments are used to determine a range of psychological and behavioral health issues using diagnostic clinical interviews, cognitive batteries, and/or personality inventories.

Comprehensive assessments include:

  1. 60-minute initial clinical interview
  2. 2-4 hours of administration of measures and scoring of those measures
  3. 3-6 hours interpreting testing and interview data and compiling a comprehensive report with recommendations
  4. Feedback session in which the results are shared, treatment options discussed, and patients have an opportunity to ask questions.

*We currently offer comprehensive psychological assessments for ADHD as well as diagnostic clarity or differential diagnosis. We do not offer Autism Assessments or Neuropsychological Assessments. Click here to learn the difference.

Psychoeducation
Consultation & Psychoeducation
We offer consultation services for other mental health providers. We are most effective in this service when providers have specific  treatment questions regarding their patients (client-centered case consultation) or when providers hope to improve their own professional functioning across multiple patients within a particular domain (consultee-centered consultation).

We provide consultation and psychoeducation for businesses, integrating psychological science into staff training on topics like implicit bias, trauma-informed care, resilience, self-compassion, and communication skills.

Telehealth

SHAPE can provide video telehealth for those living in Montana or Utah. We use a HIPAA-compliant video conferencing software to conduct therapy and some assessments over the internet. Research indicates that face-to-face televideo therapy is equally as effective as in-person therapy.

Initial PCL-5 score was obtained using the monthly version. Subsequent measuresments were obtained using the weekly version.

Patients completed treatment in 10, 11, or 13 sessions. Patients with fewer than 8 sessions elected to discontinue treatment prior to completion.
